This article shows how you can modify turnkey websites to increase their effectiveness and value to you. Modification of turnkey sites is essential to deriving maximum value from them. Turnkey sites can be a valuable tool. They are created by design and marketing experts. Many of them has also been market tested and have shown that they lead to high conversion rates. All of this assumes that you purchased from a reputable vendor and not a template mill. These are compelling reasons to use turnkey sites. But, unfortunately, these products cannot be used out of-the-box and without modification. As great as these websites look, they were probably sold to hundreds of other people and have likely already been published on the Internet. Attempting to publish a duplicate website would be a problem for two reasons. First, Google and other websites ignore duplicate content. This means that if you launch a new site that is duplicative of other sites already on the Internet, the search engines will ignore your site. You will receive no search engine traffic at all. This would be a disaster for your business. Second, if you use a duplicative site, you will be banned from the Google Pay Per Click (“PPC”) program.
You can address this problem by customizing your turnkey sites and adding unique content. Before you do this, make sure that you were licensed the right to modify them. If you were not, the vendor sold you a product with no value to you. Obviously, you should verify that you have modification rights before you purchase a turnkey website Here are some tips for how to modify your turnkey sites. 1. Switch Out Any Products That Come With The Turnkey Site. Chances are, the vendor has populated your new website with affiliate products. You need to try these products yourself so that you can credibly recommend them to your customers. Ask yourself, in the course of your diligence, whether these are the best products to promote in the niche your website is targeting. Do research on the Internet and on affiliate marketing forums to see if there are competing affiliate programs that offer better values to your customers. Liberally switch out any products you do not like with any that you find to be a better choice. 2. Add Your Own Insight To The Product Reviews. If you decide that the products included in the website are the best available this does not mean that need to adopt every statement that the website makes about the product. In the course of evaluating the various affiliate products, you have likely come up with opinions of your own. See if you have a different angle or viewpoint on the products and revise the reviews accordingly. Exercise care, however, that in changing the language of the turnkey website you do not reduce the persuasive impact of it. 3. Attach A Blog. A basic Wordpress blog can transform your turnkey website from a cookie-cutter duplicate to a unique item. At least this is how search engines view it. Write about a dozen posts or pages about your niche and direct readers to the turnkey website for more information. Write a few more posts every week to keep your blog fresh and growing. This will help enhance the rankings of your site and, over time, will bring you free traffic. To make the most of a turnkey website, you need to make it your own. As this article shows, it is not hard. The rewards are well worth the small effort it will take.
